This national Historic site protects the archaeological evidence of the storied trading post and tragic story of Fort La Tour from 1631-1645 and the prior years of Aboriginal occupation and landing site used to portage the treacherous Reversing Falls. Glenn Group prepared the master plan in 2004 and in 2018 $2M in funding was secured to develop the site as an interpretive experience. The firm also served as the General Contractor engaging local contractors and sourced out all the materials for site development, the stone bastion, buildings and fortification.
